Your Role at SafelyYou

We’re hiring a Lead Software Engineer (P5) to provide technical leadership on our Fleet Management team. This team builds the software and systems that keep SafelyYou’s platform running reliably in the real world coordinating and monitoring a large distributed fleet of devices and services so updates are safe, measurable, and recoverable.

You’ll help us:

• ship software updates safely (with guardrails, rollout strategies, and rollback paths)

• improve observability and operational confidence

• build resilient Go services that support a large, always-on environment

• mentor engineers and raise the quality bar across the team

What You’ll Do

• Lead architecture and implementation of backend services (primarily Go) that support fleet deployment, health monitoring, and system reliability

• Own the software rollout pipeline: safe deployments, staged rollouts, verification, and rollback strategies across a large fleet

• Improve observability and production readiness: monitoring, alerting, dashboards, incident learnings, and reliability practices

• Drive technical direction through design reviews, technical proposals, and hands-on execution

• Mentor and coach engineers (P1–P4), helping the team grow in both systems thinking and engineering craft

• Partner cross-functionally with Product, AI, Hardware, and Operations to deliver dependable end-to-end outcomes

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an “IoT person” to be successful here. We’re looking for strong engineers who build reliable systems and care about quality.

• Strong experience building and operating production services in Go (or deep expertise in another backend language + willingness to ramp quickly)

• Experience with distributed systems: deployment safety, reliability, incident response, or operating software at scale

• Comfort in Linux environments, plus strong debugging and performance instincts

• Ability to own systems end-to-end: design → implementation → rollout → monitoring → iteration

• Clear communicator and strong collaborator who can lead through influence and mentorship

Nice to have (not required):

• Experience with device fleets, edge software, or “software that runs outside the datacenter”

• OTA-style upgrade systems, rollout/rollback mechanics, or release engineering

• Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, or platform tooling

• Exposure to regulated or compliance-sensitive environments (healthcare, safety, finance, etc.)
