Your Role at SafelyYou
We are looking for an experienced IT Compliance Coordinator to join our growing team! The IT Compliance Coordinator will support the IT team in its mission of managing company compliance and data governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the IT Manager to design, implement, and oversee recurring compliance tasks, ensuring adherence to HIPAA, SOC2, and CCPA standards
- Partner with IT team members and other cross-functional teams to guide compliance and governance initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements
- Serve as a point of contact for compliance queries and best practices, providing internal consulting to business stakeholders regarding security, privacy, and regulatory obligations
- Conduct periodic risk assessments and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement, recommending solutions and overseeing remediation efforts
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on compliance procedures, audit trails, and controls, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits
- Develop and deliver training programs to promote awareness of compliance responsibilities across the organization, particularly in collaboration with the IT team
- Stay informed on relevant legislative or regulatory changes, incorporating these updates into the company’s compliance and governance strategies
- Explore and utilize AI tools to streamline compliance monitoring, reporting, and risk management, working closely with IT to integrate new technologies
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Information Technology, Business, Legal Studies); Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g. CIPP/US, CISA, CRISC, etc.) are a plus
- Strong familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, and CCPA frameworks, as well as hands-on experience applying these standards within a technology-driven environment
- Knowledge of privacy laws, data protection regulations, and security best practices
- Experience with compliance management platforms or GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance for non-technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build consensus across different departments, with a focus on IT alignment
- Familiarity with or interest in AI tools to enhance compliance and governance processes
